Celestial Poet, CP, also known as "Mama CP" by her peers, is a resident of Greenville, S.C. CP speaks softly but her words are loud and heavy with deep meaning and personal triumphs. Inspired by Maya Angelou, CP writes about anything that bothers, or touches, her heart.
She began writing at the young age of nine, stopped at the age of 15, but picked her pen back up when a friend asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up...that's when CP remembered that she always wanted to be a poet.
A very eloquent, but an exciting writer, performer, and performance coach CP has competed in several slams and coached teams competing in Southern Fried Poetry slams since 2012.
Celestial Poet continues to influence and coach poets through her developed “LMNOP Writing Workshops”. In the workshops, she pushes her students out of their comfort zones to teach them how to write from their hearts, deal with stress, perform with passion, and communicate effectively.
She works with Writer’s Well Youth Fellowship, founded and created by Crystal Tenille Irby, mentoring young teen girls of color on how to be their authentic selves through the art of poetry. With WWYF CP facilitates her LMNOP workshops to include self-awareness, spiritual awareness, and life experiences. She is half of the founding team of #FreeUpstatePoetry.
Celestial Poets loves serving and teaching the power of writing, expression, wisdom, knowledge, and spoken word. Her greatest passion is enabling teens to freely express themselves while honing their writing craft.
CP's work illuminates positivity, love, being at peace, and establishing strong self-confidence.

Life has brought CP triumps and obstacles. What kept her grounded through it all, was her pen. It provided her the opportunity to explore her emotions, find beauty in the midst of storms and find her personal sound.

Giving your audience a piece of you when you perform can be very intimidating. When CP started performing she couldn't keep her hands from shaking or her mouth from drying out. She learned to conquer the fear and teach other how to do the same. This has formed strong bonds both on and off stages.

CP believes teaching the youth the power of self-development, poetry, self-expression, and writing is important. For this reason, she mentors and coaches them about life experiences, emotional and spiritual growth. She wants to insure they have the tools to succeed.
